Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
An official for the company stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was reached following an review of reports of questionable actions towards young women.
The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
An Illustrious Writing Journey
Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
